Important Dates for June

Remember:

  • Our mission trip is on Thursday the 13th.
  • 8th Grade graduation is on Friday the 14th
  • Your Travel Agency project is due 6/19/12 - No time for late assignments.
  • Remember your field day donations.
  • Field Day is June 20, 2013 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Volunteers needed.
  • Last day of school is the 21st. No Day Care will be available.
  • No tutoring 6/19/13
We have two weeks left of learning 4th grade. Keep up the good work.

Homework

Math : Complete 375 all problems.

Your Class Notes

To measure capacity you will use:
1.    cups                                                
2.    pints
3.    quarts
4.    gallons

Converting units of measure will require you to multiply or divide.
·        When converting from a larger unit of measure to a smaller unit of measure you will need to multiply.
                                                              i.      For example:
1.    Gallons – Quarts = multiplication
2.    quarts – pints = multiplication
3.    pints – cups = multiplication

·        When converting from smaller units of measure to larger units you will need to divide.
1.    cups – pints = division
2.    pints – quarts = division
3.    quarts – gallons = division

Remember capacity is the amount a container can hold when filled (e.g. water bottle, milk gallon, shampoo, juice, soda etc.)

Customary Units for Measuring Liquids

1 pint (pt) = 2 cups (c)
1 quart (qt) = 2 pints
1 gallon = 4 quarts


63 qt =     g                                       5 qt=       pt
16 qt =     g                                   12 qt =       pt

20qt  =     g                                       6pt =       c

Mission Field Trip

Good morning parents,
The trip to the mission has been confirmed (bus included) for June 13, 2013. The trip will cost 20.00 per student which will cover mission admission and transportation. Students will be required to bring their own lunch. Every student must wear their school PE shirt and jeans. Parents if you are available to chaperone please email me and I will confirm your attendance. Adult admission for the mission is $5. Please contact me if you have any questions.

Los estudiantes deberán de traer su propio almuerzo. Cada estudiante debe llevar su camisa de educación física escolar y pantalones (jeans). I received a Catholic education at St.Raphael and furthered my education at the California State University Dominguez Hills. I received my BA in Liberal Studies with a Mathematics option. I completed my graduate studies at Mount St. Mary's College. I have been blessed to have been influenced by wonderful teachers, and will meet the high expectations my students have.
